Fortnite cross-play coming to consoles, including Xbox One

Update, March 10: Epic Games have clarified that Fortnite cross-platform support will include Xbox One. 

Fortnite continues its march across platforms, and cross-play, cross-purchase, and cross-progression will soon be supported on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Mac, and iOS, with Android support coming later.

Nearly 5,000 years of Fortnite have been streamed on Twitch - in just two weeks. 

"Contrary to what may have been implied, Microsoft has long been a leading voice in supporting cross-platform play, connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles," Epic said in a post today. "We’ve been working together with them over the last several months to make this possible, and will bring this functionality to Fortnite players on Xbox right along with other platforms."

Original story, March 9: Epic Games have announced Fortnite Battle Royale is making its way to iOS and Android, with cross-play and cross-progression support.

Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile devices promises to be the exact same game as its PC and console brethren, including the same weekly updates, maps, content, and gameplay.
