Metal Gear Survive is always online and contains microtransactions. In an interview with Gamespot, a Konami spokesperson revealed that the game will require a persistent internet connection, no matter what mode you’re playing.
Metal Gear Survive wants you to play with friends, or die.
According to Gamespot, Konami says the game requires a constant connection “so the game can offer a ‘seamless’ experience,” allowing players to move easily between single- and multiplayer. The decision will also apparently allow Konami to “provide ongoing content post-launch.”
