Fallout 76 might release in just a few weeks

Fallout 76’s release date has potentially leaked on Amazon. A listing for the game, which has now been changed to offer a generic release window, suggests the next offering in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic series could release sooner than you might think.

The Amazon listing has since been edited to include a tentative release date of December 31, 2019, but for a while stated that Fallout 76 would be available on July 31, 2018 (you’ll be able to view a screenshot at the bottom of this article). That means that it could release in just over seven weeks’ time.

It’s no surprise that the Fallout series makes it onto our list of the best RPGs.

Obviously we’re yet to get an official Fallout 76 release date, but this rumour isn’t entirely without worth. While many companies use their E3 showings to reveal games planned for release in a few years, Bethesda wasted no time getting Fallout 4 out the door after they announced it at E3 2015 - that game was released just a few months after Bethesda’s showcase, in November. It’s very possible that the publisher will repeat that move this year.

A screenshot, helpfully captured by MassivelyOP, shows that both the PC and Xbox One versions of the game will be available “by Tuesday, 31 July.” It also shows that the PC version of the game is retailing for £49.99, while the console version is on sale for £59.99.
