The No Man's Sky ARG might be teasing the 1.5 update, skipping 1.4

In the middle of 2017, No Man’s Sky players discovered an ARG called Waking Titan, which featured a series events leading up to the release of the Atlas Rises update in August. The ARG closed following that, but it reopened in December, and now players are starting to receive items in the mail tied to the newly-begun phase four.

No Man’s Sky features items called Atlas Passes, which serve to open various locks in-game. Those go up to V3 versions, but the latest step in the ARG has players receiving V4 versions - real-life ones, delivered by mail. The cards apparently number 10,000, and each has a unique number printed on it. The hex strings printed on the cards so far all translate to “phoenix.”

Additionally, the Waking Titan website has been returning a “#WhatIs1.5” response when you type in “WhoIs.”
